Tammy Bell NZIA Director, Business Development & Client Relationships.
Immigration is a journey that can be a roller-coaster from start to finish for many, it certainly was for Tammy and her family. What got them through was three years of solid research and preparation. The Bell family arrived in Christchurch in September 2000.
After spending years using her immigration knowledge to answer questions on websites Tammy asked husband Mike, then an e-commerce web-developer, to build one of the first social media sites: move2nz.com and used this site to create a fantastic friendship network and community now nearly 40,000 strong.
In 2006 Tammy and Mike created and launched New Zealand's first dedicated facility for skilled migrants The Skilled Migrant Information and Resource Centre in Christchurch: a completely free service which helped over 10,000 people.
Not only did Tammy fund this service from her own pocket, but she also volunteered full-time for three years, working with hundreds of families to give them information at every stage for their migration and help them get through settlement difficulties.
One of Tammy's special talents is her amazing memory and deep interest in helping people. Many migrants who Tammy has met for just minutes are surprised when she greets them by name years later.
Since 2005 Tammy has been in helping newcomers access New Zealand social and business networks to ensure the greatest chance of migration success.
